2’s and 3’s Class

Cherry Valley Brethren Preschool is a curriculum based preschool. We use the ABEKA curriculum, which is a Christian based curriculum. We have a very structured program that focuses on Phonics, Math, Bible, and Arts and Crafts. We do offer a 2’s/3’s class that helps with potty training. Our school year runs from Mid August through the beginning of June. Open enrollment is April 1st. Applications must be completely filled out, signed and include completed physicians report, immunization record, and original birth certificate.

Our hours of operation are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm class starts at 8:30 am.

1/2 Day 7:00 am to 12:00 pm
3/4 Day 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Full Day 7:00 am to 5:30 pm

Curriculum

Our teachers and staff are guided by the ABEKA curriculum which is a Christian based curriculum. We provide a low student ratio. Our 2’s and 3’s classrooms have one teacher with 12 students and our Pre-K classes have two teachers with a maximum of 24 students. Our teacher’s develop age-appropriate activities that introduce and strengthen academic and social skills.

In addition to the ‘basics’, we offer students a range of gross motor and creative opportunities including daily Bible stories and crafts. We strive to include enrichment activities that extend our students knowledge and understanding of the world outside the classroom.

Curriculum Short Overview

-Recognition of name, sound, and picture for short vowels and consonants.

-Formation of vowels and consonants in upper and lower case.

-Numbers Simple counting 1–25.

-Number concepts 1–10.

-Simple counting 1–30.

-Number concepts 1–15.

-Number recognition.

-Proper sequence.

-Traditional and fun songs.

-Lessons such as: Creation, Noah, Boy Samuel, Daniel, Boyhood of Jesus, Zacchaeus, Good Samaritan.

-Colors, shapes, following directions, eye hand coordination.

-Development of motor skills in drawing, coloring, cutting, and gluing.
